November Recap: Grateful to Be Booked and Blessed
Can you believe we’re in the last stretch of the year? I mean, honestly, who hit the fast-forward button on 2024? November came and went like a tumbleweed in the desert—chaotic, prickly, and somehow still amusing. I’m grateful, though, because this month was all about being booked and blessed. Let me catch you up on the whirlwind that was November:
I landed two easy pet-sitting gigs and even a TaskRabbit job that took me to DesignerCon! For those not in the know, DesignerCon is basically Comic-Con’s artsy cousin—a convention celebrating everything from collectible toys to cutting-edge art and pop culture. Think vinyl toys, murals, wearables, and all the creative vibes you can handle. Naturally, I vlogged and made a video about it because why not turn work into content? These gigs, combined with my last check from Navajo State Park, covered my bills and living expenses for the month. That said, my Thanksgiving week was a bust gig-wise. I had three requests for pet sitting, but none of them read my profile (parking is a thing, people!), so I spent the holiday fasting and catching up on work stuff in my friend's neighborhood. And, no, I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Colonization and massacres? Yeah, hard pass. But I will take a plate of food the next day because dinner is dinner on any day.
I’ve been hopping between city spots in south Vegas and iOverlander free desert finds, and my personal favorite: scoping out where truckers overnight and testing it myself. So far, I’ve survived without incident. One spot, Jean Dry Lake BLM land, was free and spacious, but between the tumbleweed pricklies and colder temps, Daria hates it there. Like, full-on bathroom rebellion. After her massive accident the last time we were there, I started training her to use a small turf mat right outside the RV so that she doesn't have to go far to use the bathroom outside (RIP to that sacrifice), and litter training is officially on the horizon.
Speaking of the pups, November wasn’t kind to them. Daria was in heat and couldn’t enjoy dog parks, as well as rising allergy symptoms, while Dude went all-in at the dog parks and picked up his first-ever case of kennel cough. Team Sick Dogs kept me busy with natural tinctures, Benadryl, and endless cuddles. Both bounced back quickly, but their allergies have been off the charts here in dusty, dry Vegas. At this point, I’m counting down the days until we can head to Mexico for warm, tropical vibes.
On the business side of things, I launched my holiday self-care boxes! These handcrafted beauties are filled with natural products and thoughtful gifts, and while they took way longer to make than expected, I’m proud of the result. The hardest part? Promoting. Because let’s face it: promotion is basically my kryptonite. But I’m pushing through because these boxes are not just cute—they’re queen-approved.
I also managed to squeeze in some much-needed friend time. I camped with my nomad friends Stefan and Brandy, and we treated ourselves to an all-you-can-eat seafood boil at Crab and Spice. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Also yes. Because, fun fact: the cheap casino buffets that Vegas used to be famous for are officially an endangered species. This was our delicious consolation prize.
December Plans: Holiday Hustle Mode Activated
December is knocking, and I’ve got big plans. First up: applying for some long-term gigs on Upwork to create a more consistent income flow. My holiday sale is in full swing, and I’m optimistic about the season—even if it requires promoting (ugh, again). Content creation remains a top priority, with a steady flow of YouTube videos keeping my RV enthusiast crowd engaged. And as I prepare for the possibility of crossing into Mexico in the early spring, I’m thinking about logistics, sustainability, and, of course, money.
There’s also the matter of Royal Poo Company vs. JNE—because yes, I’m hiring a lawyer to deal with the scammy prototype debacle. It’s been exhausting, but I’m not quitting. I’ve shifted focus for now to avoid burnout, but my toilet millionaire goals is still on the horizon. Entrepreneurship feels like running a marathon, only to realize there’s no finish line—but hey, at least I’m building stamina.
As the year wraps up, I’m stepping into December with a mix of hustle and hope. If the money keeps flowing, I might stay in Vegas a little longer, but my heart (and allergies) are longing for a few more degrees of warmth. Here’s to crossing the finish line of 2024 with grace, grit, and maybe a little glitter. Because this Queen? She’s not done yet. 💜✨
Here’s to finishing strong in December, dreaming big for 2025, and hoping for a slightly warmer winter. As always, thanks for following along on this journey💜 See Y'all in 2025!!
