How Is September Over Already?
Y’all, can we take a moment to acknowledge how ridiculous it is that we’re three months away from 2025? No, seriously, can someone hit the pause button on Life?. I’m not even done processing the beginning of the year, and now I’m pulling out hoodies again. It’s wild. September was a fast and furious month for me, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it month, full of change, growth, and new adventures. But don’t worry, I’ve got all the tea for you. So grab your favorite cozy drink (pumpkin spice lovers, this is your moment), and let’s break down what went down in September's mixed bag of progress, planning, and prepping for the cold days ahead..
Content Creation: Back in the Groove, Consistency is Key!
Let me start by saying—drumroll please—I was super consistent with content creation this month! That’s right, I posted at least one YouTube video a week! 💪🏾 I had three videos prepped and ready to go before August ended, and that really helped me keep the momentum going. But the highlight of September? I had a micro-viral! 🎉 (yes, I'm claiming that)! I learned a nifty technique called "social hacking" from the Soul Creator course
Here’s how it happened: Social Hacking (don’t worry, it’s nothing shady). Social hacking is basically when you leveraging current events or popular content, adding your unique twist, and grabbing the audience’s attention. So I put that to the test by social hacking none other than the amazing Jewel Pearson - tiny house queen herself, and rode the algorithm wave. That video blew up, and I’m seeing some serious ROI (return on investment) in terms of monetization and channel growth. It’s given me so much hope, now that I’m back in my groove and testing out strategies that actually work. I might be late to the party, but I'm here now, honey!
Colorado: Fall is in Full Swing! 🍂
Now that we’ve officially entered fall in Colorado, the weather is playing its usual tricks. One minute, I’m cranking up the space heater to get warm in the mornings, and by the afternoon, I’m sweating and turning on the AC. It’s beautiful though—the trees are changing color, and the crisp air just hits different, you know?
I’ve wrapped up my tree-planting duties for the season and have officially planted 61 native trees throughout the campground! That’s right, 61—I’m basically the Johnny Appleseed of this park. It feels really good knowing I’ll leave a bit of a legacy here. In a few years, I can come back and see these trees flourishing, thanks to all the watering, nurturing, and love I’ve put into them. 🌳
But now that tree-planting is done, I’m mostly focusing on keeping the trees alive (aka watering them obsessively) and finishing up shop projects. My official last day working will be October 25th, and then it’s time to hit the road again! Speaking of which, let’s talk about my winter plans...
Winter Plans: Viva Las Vegas! 🎰
After much overthinking and overplanning (because that’s what I do), I’ve finally solidified my winter plans. First stop: Vegas, baby! I’ll be celebrating Halloween there, catching up with an old friend, and diving into some solid house-sitting and gig work. Vegas is also a goldmine for house-sitting and dog-sitting gigs. Plus, it’s a solid spot for other gig work like Instawork, Qwick, and TaskRabbit. My plan is to combine house-sitting (for free lodging) with paid gigs on Rover and Wag to keep the cash flowing while I’m on the road. But that’s not all—I'm refining my offerings in my own business, so I’m not always relying on gig work. Because, let's be real, working half the day isn’t my vibe anymore. I need to get back to my entrepreneurial flow. 💼 Vegas is a great spot to hustle, so I’m hoping to stay for a bit before heading to Arizona when things get colder (or the money dries up, whichever comes first).
My ultimate goal is still Mexico, but now that I know the Eco Throne release is going to be delayed, I don’t feel the need to stick around here any longer than necessary. If I’m not in Mexico by January, you’ll definitely find me at RTR (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous) in Quartzsite, Arizona!
Garden Update: Goodbye Summer, Hello Harvest. Time to Go Dormant 🌱
With the temperatures cooling down, my garden is slowly starting to go dormant. It’s bittersweet because I’m not going to get to harvest the watermelon, cucumber, or corn, maybe potatoes before I leave. But don’t worry—I’m bringing my cannabis, green onions, rosemary, and mint inside the RV, and maybe some tomatoes (if they make it after this next harvest). It’s been a learning process, but I’m proud of what I’ve managed to grow so far.
Oh, and I’ve also been busy foraging around the park for wild plants and herbs. It’s become a bit of a hobby, and now I’m collecting them for medicinal uses and to make some handmade gifts. Here’s a little breakdown of what I’ve been gathering and what they’re good for:
Mullein Leaves: These fluffy leaves are fantastic for making tea or smoke blends, especially if you’re dealing with a cough or respiratory issues. Mullein is known to help clear up congestion and soothe irritated lungs, and helps clear out mucus which is perfect for this time of year when everyone’s starts getting sick. Fun fact: Mullein is sometimes called "cowboy toilet paper" because of its soft leaves. I tried it and its fantastic! 😆
Chicory Root: This is another powerhouse. Chicory root has prebiotics that help with digestion, and it’s often used as a coffee substitute (without the caffeine jitters). I plan to make a tincture with the root and I already made a tinure with the beautiful chicory flowers for medicinal purposes too.
Juniper: Juniper stems and berries have all kinds of magical uses! I’m collecting the stems to make smudge sticks for cleansing energy, and I’m also gathering the berries for medicinal purposes. Juniper berries are full of antioxidants and can help with everything from digestion to joint pain. Plus, I’m planning to use some of the resin to make incense—who doesn’t love a good incense blend? Fun fact: Juniper is also used in gin-making, so there’s that!
Colorado Sage: Another staple in the smudging world, Colorado Sage is excellent for clearing negative energy and setting the vibe. I’m making sage smudge sticks and blending them with other herbs to make an incense blend.
I’m even collecting seeds from some of these plants to grow my own next season, so this foraging hobby is turning into a little ecosystem of its own! And yes, for everyone who’s been asking—I will be sharing some of these creations as gifts, but I’m also planning to sell holiday gift boxes that include my deodorants, smudge sticks, and more. Keep an eye out for those in the coming months!
October Goals: Digital Detox and RV Prep 🚐
October’s got big energy. First off, I’m taking a 30-day digital detox from the Metaverse (bye-bye Instagram and Facebook). This is way overdue! It’s time to clear my head and refocus my energy. Sometimes I need a break from the constant mindless scrolling and unproductiveness.
I’ve also kicked off a bunch of RV projects to get ready for my departure from the park. I finally secured the new fridge in place and changed the door swing to be more convenient and then built a shelf above it to store extra items. (yay, more room for snacks!) Next up: decluttering and reorganizing my basement compartments and installing the Eco Throne for partial use. I’ll finally be testing it out before the cold hits.
Speaking of winter prep, I’ve decided to rebrand Black Travel Tribe (BTT) after the whole Black Nomads Meetup controversy I want to combine the 2 communities into 1 necessary united community. I getting serious about calling my Queen Rising Retreat, back to life. Financially, I’m gearing up for holiday season money-making projects, which include launching my gift boxes with deodorants, foraged goods, and other natural products. I also want to promote RV life consulting, as their are a lot newbie coming into the community. And of course, YouTube content will keep flowing, as I continue to refine my strategies and explore new ways to engage with my community.
I’m also diving back into learning mode with the Capital Navigator Course (for angel investor funds) and the Wealthy Women Vault. These are some high-vibe spaces filled with entrepreneurs who are all about making money in innovative ways through the digital world, and I’m taking notes!
Lastly, I’ve been talking about taking my blow-up raft or kayak out on the lake all summer and I haven’t done it yet. But that changes this month! I’m determined to paddle out on this lake before it freezes over. It's been one of those things where I keep putting it off because—let’s be honest, the idea of doing it alone wasn’t that appealing. it’s getting cooler, so it's now or never., But now that the cooler weather is here,
Gas money for my trip to Vegas is also much appreciated if you want to support the cause! 😘
That’s it for September, folks. I’ll see you all in October with even more updates, some big changes, and hopefully, a raft/kayak adventure story!
